Document Overlay Fields (BETA)

BETA FEATURE!
We're excited to introduce a new feature, but please be aware that it's currently in beta testing. This means we're actively working to refine and enhance its functionality. Your feedback and insights during this phase are invaluable in helping us make it even better.

Document Overlay Fields

The Document Overlay Fields feature allows you to place data fields directly onto your PDF documents.

Enable Document Overlay Fields

To start using Document Overlay Fields, you first need to enable this feature through the Marketplace

  1. Navigate to Marketplace > Document Overlay Fields > Click Enable.
Note:
Only administrators in the account can enable the feature in Marketplace.

Create template group

Once the feature is enabled, the next step is to create a template group with the data fields you want to overlay on your PDF. This feature also works seamlessly with any template group, including those accessed through integrations.

  1. Go to Marketplace > Template Groups > Click Enable
  2. Click on +Add template group and choose a name for the template group
  3. Click on your template group > Data fields > +Add a data field and add your Data fields

Create PDF template

After creating your template group and adding your data fields, it's time to create your PDF template.

  1. Go to Templates > Click +Create template
  2. Select Upload PDF and choose the PDF you want to use for your template, then click Save.
  3. Go to Data fields > Select your Template group
  4. Begin placing your data fields on the PDF where needed
  5. To adjust the size of a field, simply drag its corner to resize it.

Field Settings

You have full control over whether counterparties can edit the fields in your document. Here’s how to configure the settings:

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner to set the default settings for the entire template.
  2. To customize settings for individual fields, click on a specific field. You can:
    - Override the section's default settings for that field.
    - Make the field required.

Note:
If any fields are marked as required, the document cannot be signed until all required fields are completed.
