Changes to message templates

With the August 2018 product release, changes were made to how message templates are handled. Instead of being handled at the account level and having all collections share the same message templates, message templates were migrated to the collection level. Each collection now has control over its own message templates and there are no limitations as how many message templates a collection can have.


Creating message templates

As a user with access to the Template module, new message templates can be created and made available automatically to all users with access to the collection.

  1. Go to the Templates module
  2. Select the Messages tab
  3. Choose + Create template and enter the template details
  4. Select Confirm to finalize the process

Editing message templates

Editing message templates can be done from the message template listing view (see below).

  1. Go to the Templates module
  2. Select the Messages tab
  3. Click on one of the templates
  4. Once in the template details view, click Edit
  5. Alter the template details (type, name, subject and message)
  6. Confirm

Deleting message templates

Deleting message templates can be done from the message template listing view (see below).

  1. Go to the Templates module
  2. Select the Messages tab
  3. Click on Trash icon one of the templates
  4. Confirm

Collection message templates and private message templates

Collection message templates are offered to the user in addition to the user-defined and private message templates as illustrated in the image below. Learn more about private message templates.
