This article explains how to use data fields with the Membrain–Oneflow integration. Data fields allow you to automatically transfer information from Membrain to your Oneflow contracts.
REQUIREMENTS
|
INFORMATION ✅ The Membrain integration DOES support custom data fields. Create the fields in Membrain first. The fields will then become available in the Oneflow template editor after the integration has synchronized them. |
Playbooks
The Membrain integration uses the Membrain Template playbook in Oneflow. The playbook connects your Membrain fields to your Oneflow templates.
In Membrain
Create data fields
Create the fields you want to transfer to Oneflow directly from the Membrain integration settings.
- Open the Oneflow Integration page in Membrain.
- Open the Fields tab.
- Click Add Field.
- Enter a name for the field.
- If needed, enter a placeholder to provide additional guidance for the field.
- Click Save.
- Repeat these steps for all information you want to transfer to Oneflow.
The saved fields will become available in the Oneflow template editor.
In Oneflow
Create or configure a template
- In Oneflow, go to Templates.
- Open the template you want to use, or click Create template.
- Add the required sections and content to the template.
- Open the Data fields side panel.
- Under Playbooks, select Membrain Template.
- Save the template.
Back in Membrain
Make sure the Oneflow template is added to Membrain.
- Open the Oneflow Integration page.
- Open the Templates tab.
- Click Add Template.
- Click Select Template.
- Select the Oneflow template you want to add.
INFORMATION Add Oneflow templates to Membrain one at a time. |
Map fields for the template
After adding the template, connect each Oneflow data field to the corresponding Membrain field.
- Open the template’s field-mapping settings in Membrain.
- Select a Oneflow field.
- Select the corresponding Membrain field to map to it.
- Repeat these steps for each field you want to transfer.
- Click Save.
INFORMATION Field mapping is optional but recommended. Mappings must be configured separately for every Oneflow template you add to Membrain. |
When you create a contract using the configured template, the mapped Oneflow fields are automatically populated with the corresponding values from Membrain.
Troubleshooting
A Membrain field is not available in Oneflow
Confirm that:
- The field has been created and saved in Membrain.
- The Membrain integration is active and authenticated.
- The Oneflow template has the Membrain Template playbook assigned.
The Oneflow template is not available in Membrain
Confirm that:
- The template has been saved and published in Oneflow.
- The template has the Membrain Template playbook assigned.
- The template has not already been added to the integration.
A field is empty in the created contract
Confirm that:
- The source field contains a value in Membrain.
- The Membrain field is mapped to the correct Oneflow field for that template.
- The Oneflow field is connected to the correct form field or text section.
Changes to a mapping are not reflected in contracts
Save the updated mapping in Membrain and make sure you are creating the contract with the correct published Oneflow template. Mapping changes apply to newly created contracts.
